How many dots can you have in a Sphere or Arete in M20? (And other miscellaneous questions.)

I don't see/remember rules for a 6th dot/archmastery in M20, but I see it mentioned on the wiki, and I've seen 10 dots of Arete mentioned in Book of the Fallen iirc.
Also, out of curiosity, if a Mage has their magic restored after being subjected to Gilgul, do they get their old avatar back, or do they get a new one (a la the Green/White Power Ranger)? Do they have to start over completely or do they get their original power back?
Or is that all up to Storyteller discretion?
