I have very little faith in television and movies nowadays. There are some greats- Succession, for the acting. Great movement in all their eyes. Tellings of what the audience knows that the actors don’t. Game of thrones (not season 8!) for the amazing suspense and nudity. And now I feel that, at least season one of The White Lotus, falls into this realm. When I watched the first season, I felt that it could have been just as well placed in the pages of a great 50’s or 60’s novel. Not so much Bukowski, or Salinger, but along those lines. I kept thinking of “A Perfect Day for Bananafish” when watching the first season. Great dialogue- could have been a book. Don’t know if it is.
Just my thoughts!
