I'm bringing a new whippet male pup soon and I have made some check list for couple of months. I scanned a lot in the group and other internet source. Please let me know if something is missing.

These are all nice to haves and by no means obligatory but they work for us:

Long lead and short lead - I use short lead for city walking and longer for country
Bells for collar so I can hear my boy when he's in the woodland - got mine on Etsy
Little flashing flight (I use a cheap bicycle light on his collar) for city dark walks
Chamois cloth for grooming between baths
Coconut oil for teeth cleaning and paw moisturiser

Apple cider vinegar (diluted with water cotton pad) for ear cleaning
Lick mats - my boy loves them

Kong - he loves that too with peanut butter or some of his food frozen
Little portable mat for when you go for a coffee and want them to settle
A few martingale collars (they'll get dirty!) a harness (my boy doesn't walk well with a harness but I have one if I need to use a handle - Ruffwear flagline is what I have and it's v sturdy)
Collapsable bowl for when you're out an about for water/food

Enjoy this magical time!
