For reference I’m a 20 (almost 22) year old male located in the USA. So ever since I was 15 I think every year I’ve had a different job. Most recently I started working at a Honda dealership, stayed for a year then transferred to the same companies Ford store. I’ve been at this store since September/August last year. I only get paid $10.50/hour but I work 40 hours a week, can take off when I want, and my boss is super easy to talk to and chill with. This is prolly the first job that I’ve had that I don’t go home miserable and crying at night time. The thing is, I’m now going into my bachelors program at a 4 year college and I need more cash flow. I figured I can ask for a raise but there is a 90% chance it’ll be denied, or if it’s accepted will only be to $11/$11.50 an hour. The Chick-fil-A and other places near me are hiring at $14-$18 an hour. Now I don’t know if it’ll be flexible and I can take off whenever I want. (This is big cause I do take off for trips a lot and I always provide 2 week notice) and Idk how the work environment will be. I’m just stuck on if I should stay at my current job, making $10.50 an hour, or if I should start looking else for something that pays more.
