I knew this sub was generous, but I'm still a bit shocked at how quickly and and fervently the community has jumped at the fundraising opportunities. I figured we could raise a couple hundred bucks and we'd all cheer.
So far, the unofficial tally is $1,302 raised for a handful of charities, including the Jed Foundation, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Canadian Mental Health Association, Centre For Addiction and Mental Health, local food banks, and Extra Life.
Some highlights of how we got here include:
- People piling on to pledge $1 per user that completes all 30 days. We have 14 people pledging $1 and we're on track for 65 or so people to finish all 30 days. It's not too late to pledge!
- /u/bourboninexile has himself (in theory. damn USPS delays and totally not /u/urfrendlipiro delays) a shiny, used, stick of arko after winning an impromptu auction
- Even though dupe day has passed, I'll still match up to $10 per person to anyone donating to Extra-Life
- Try That Cameo is still taking requests. Shitposting bits? ✅. Telling /u/phteven_j you love him? ✅. SotD review? ✅, Private OnlyFans video? ❌. Asking that special someone to marry you? ✅ I gotchu.
- One of, if not the only, NEW sets of Try This Soap was auctioned off for the cool price of $69 (nice)
Seriously, THANK YOU. This would not be possible with this community's generosity.
At this point, I think it's only fair we shoot for $2,000. There are still more things planned for the 2nd half of the LG, including a couple other charities to highlight. Let's get this.
