While I'm not as eloquent as some of our more prestigious members, I'd like to share my experience with you all. This is my first full stainless razor. My daily driver is a restored Fatboy and I'll be comparing it to that as it's my favorite.
I had a long day and didn't expect to see my ATT package from Bullgoose on my doorstep. USPS didn't update the shipping info so I was planning on tomorrow. I purchased an Atlas 5 piece with the following heads: M2, R2, H2 with more blade exposure respectively. This is the open comb set. The Atlas is the shortest handle they offer at a length of 3".
The packaging was a simple box with the razor packed away in wrapping paper. Simple and effective. Immediately you get a sense of quality and appreciation for the time it took someone to craft this. It's got a nice weight while the shorter handle provides nice balance. I was worried initially about the knurling not having enough grip despite how sexy it looked, I was wrong. The blade locks in solid, without any chatter or flex. This razor reminds me of my Benchmade or Spyderco knife, expert machining and built to last.
I used a Polsilver in tonight's shave and opted for the R2 plate paired with reliable Lavanille. The angle was intuitive and the weight of the razor just sheared the hairs right off. I ended up being more confident and nicked myself a few times on tight spots.
I had a great shave with this and look forward to mastering it. I did get a few nicks but I think that will pass with more time. All regret I had for this impulsive purchase faded after feeling results.
I'd love to hear you own thoughts on the razor or any comments. Cheers.
