Here's a little discussion starter.

What do you guys consider to be the "defining" scent for each artisan, as well as yourself? Say someone wants a gift of 1 soap from all of the major artisans, what would you pick? Whether it's the first scent they released, their most popular, or their most unique. Or all three. But you have to pick one.

Then, for yourself as well. What is your one soap that defines you, in a scent?

Hopefully we get some responses from the artisans themselves!

Here are mine:

  • Barrister and Mann: Cheshire - a pretty unique scent, and one I know Will is proud of. It was tough between this and Seville, but Cheshire wins it out for me.
  • Dapper Dragon: Signature - the name says it. A very unique scent employing some very different notes, such as cantaloupe.
  • WhollyKaw: Fougere Bouquet - Although not my favorite from WK, its a great take on a Fougere. Definitely something everyone should try.
  • MLS: Drunken Goat - The scent that started it all. Again, not my favorite from them, but very iconic.
  • Strop Shoppe: Baker St. - Obvious one. One of my favorites, wish it were a bit heavier scented.
  • CRSW: Berg and Bay - Again, very unique, and again not my favorite from them. Both bright and spicy, seems to have a scent profile that I haven't found anywhere else.
  • Bufflehead: Tishomingo - Tough call on this one. This smells very real to me, very "honest to goodness" outdoors. I don't get that from other Fougere interpretations.
  • Mikes Natural: Coconut - Mike certainly does less complex scents than others, but his Coconut is the best I've encountered. I've still yet to try his Lime, and I'm dying to, so for now I'm sticking with coconut.
  • Tabula Rasa: Steam Punk - A group that seems to specialize in unique scents makes one that is truly different from anything else out there. Have to pick this one.
  • LASSCo: Topanga Fougere - No brainer I think. Maybe my favorite fougere.

And as for me? Occams Original. I'll let you try and figure out why. :)
