Yesterday, I was thinking about how long the soap I have will actually last at the rate I am going. It seems that though I shave daily, the soaps hardly seem to be losing any mass. This got me thinking about how much I was loading - and just how much in necessary. I later discovered this video by Nick Shaves
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGQK7GgFGa8
TL;DW: He makes two swirls with his brush, and gets enough for two passes.
So, my purpose in posting was to start a discussion on how much my fellow wet shavers are loading their brush.
Personally, I tended to load what I thought was just enough for a 3-pass shave with my 19mm brush. That being said, this video is making me reconsider how much that actually is. Truthfully, the relative price of soap is so low the extra cost of overloading is negligible to me.
This may, however, be helpful to people with soaps which are no longer available such as P160, original Aqua di Parma, etc.
What are your thoughts?
