I, like many of you I'm sure, REALLY want to solve this thing. Those little boys deserve justice. I have been scouring original documents/exhibits/evidence from the case. However, there are SO many conflicting expert opinions on the injuries to the three little boys. Also, not all the DNA was analyzed with modern DNA technology. I feel like it is a waste of time to go over all these materials without thoroughly testing all the evidence and questioning all the individuals involved more thoroughly.
I am a law student and will be working in a litigation firm after I graduate in 2021. However, I plan on doing pro bono work in criminal defense as well. Also, I am interested in potentially working with the innocence project someday but it is just an idea at the moment.
I am curious if maybe.. if there is no hope in getting a criminal investigation going... if the victims' families, such as John Mark Byers, would be interested in opening a civil suit (kinda like how OJ got acquitted but was still found liable for his wife's death in civil court based on a preponderance of evidence rather than beyond a reasonable doubt).
Thoughts?
