I’ve been taking lessons once a week pretty regularly since the beginning of the year so for about seven months now.
I spent about a month in the very beginner class learning the basic moves. And then I move to the next level up and I’ve been there ever since. Some weeks are harder than others but on average I think I am doing pretty well in that class but lately I’ve started to wonder if maybe it’s time to take the next step.
The studio I attend has three levels of classes… so if I take this next step, I will basically be in the “top” class. Fwiw I have definitely seen people in that group (leaders) that I don’t think are very good. But all the followers I’ve seen in they group seem to be good.
I think I’m going to ask one of the instructors about taking that next step and how I know when I’m ready. But I also want to schedule a private lesson bc I just feel like that could be really helpful for me.
So I guess the question I have is “ would it be better to spend a little time in the more advanced class first and then do a private lesson? Or would a private lesson be a good precursor to stepping into that more advanced class?”
