How many beginner classes before moving on?
Post Body

I’ve been going to class a few weeks in a row…it’s like a 45 minute class followed by a social dance. They teach 1-2 moves a week in the beginner class and then basically start over the next month.

So far I have learned sugar push, sugar tuck, left side pass, and right side pass.

I’m trying to decide if I need to go through the beginner class again or if I can transition to the more advanced class. I grew up taking dance (ballet, jazz, tap) so, although it’s been 10 years since taking any dance classes I feel like I’m catching on fairly quickly.

I don’t want to be too overwhelmed by the next level class but I also feel like staying in beginner class might get boring to go through the basics again.

What do you think? How quickly did you advance? Are there any signs I’m ready to move on vs need to stay in the basics a little longer?
