Backdate: Late 1938/Early 39
While the Erma EMP copies (Naranjeros, as they are known), we are using and producing are acceptable guns, they have a notable number of design flaws. We will be putting into production a new submachine gun, the M-1938. For ease of manufacture, we have chosen to take the design and make it less reliant on wooden furnishings and traditional Spanish artisan manufacture, and begin preparing to roll out a version which substitutes the current wooden stock for a collapsible stock, as well, by mid-late 1939. We will be watching it's performance in combat versus the Naranjero, and make a later decision on which we are to standardize on.
