The Imperial German ambassadors to Austria, Romania and Hungary have issued a joint declaration, wishing to ensure the safety of German air travel traversing the countries involved in the current conflict. Germany leads the continent in civil aviation, and our Junkers Ju 52s, Ju 86 and Heinkel He 111s are common sites at aerodromes across the continent. In addition, our civilian zeppelins run by Deutsche Zeppelin Reederei also commonly fly over Austria, Hungary, and Romania on various routes to Ukraine, Southeast Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

We wish to receive assurances from all afflicted parties that our aircraft will not be targeted for destruction by belligerent aircraft or anti-aircraft ifre. Our aircraft, pertaining to general convention, are clearly marked as civilian and carry prominent German markings. Our zeppelins, in particular, are unique among civilian transport on the continent. We wish to avoid a diplomatic incident that would surely result if one of our aircraft were targeted.

The German ambassador to Hungary privately noted that the civilian air transport between German, Hungary, Romania and Ukraine would be used for the transport of German-supplied weaponry and ammunition. German aircraft on such smuggling missions will refuse to land in OFN territory, even if coerced.
