Spain, Early March, 1939

Approximately up to 50k troops who are not yet needed on the front [generally green troops, freshly trained or volunteered] will be used as part of a sweeping effort across all of Worker's Front Spain in order to stockpile food. This will also coincide with civilian efforts, but it is likely that most of the manpower will be drawn from fresh troops who are not yet needed at the front. Food shipments from France & surplus produce bought from farms will be stockpiled in rural areas and in cities in case of siege, blockade, etc. The troops deployed to assist in this manner will remain relatively cohesive so that in case they need to be recalled in an emergency, they can do it without having to be re-mustered and can be more easily sent to support the line.

This will also coincide with the project of the continued establishment of defences in depth along all segments of the Front where held by the SWF. Behind every bunker and trench line must be another bunker and trench line.
