It was well known the Michael Collins was once the Director of Intelligence for Irish forces in the war for independence. He had a group of men, the "Squad", which had the unfortunate role of counter-intelligence, which basically meant going around killing people who may or may not have been British informants, secret agents, or sympathizers. However, since the war, not much became of it, and its military elements were integrated into the Dublin Guard. Collins would like it back in action as our HUMINT intelligence agency as well as the primary operator in our black ops regarding assassinations, raids, etc. For that purpose, we are dedicating a separate budget for the "Squad", soon to be the "Irish Intelligence Corps", give it the tried and true MP28s we got from Germany as well as other specialized equipment, among other things.

We already have a solid background in maintaining informants, killing enemy informants, and conducting hits on vital buildings ,infrastructure, and people as the Irish War for Independence was proof of. We just want to formalize this process under one organized organization to better utilize our resources and coordinate our intelligence maneuvers. These will be Collins' most trusted men, many serving since the Independence War, and will be his right hand like it was during the war.
