Apart from the militias we trained, armed, and put into the regular army, we only have one division of infantry despite finding the resources to get a tank division and cavalry division, the Dublin Rifles. We will seek to diversify this infantry for our inevitable conflict in Ulster. Given that the militias initially started out as militias in Ulster, they will have more access to CQC weapons such as SMGs and undergo more training than usual in room clearing and urban warfare scenarios for their potential deployment in urban areas.
The Dublin Rifles will remain our more elite and well rounded infantry, able to participate effectively in multiple kinds of operations and fend off a large variety of threats. The tank division will remain made up of a mix of Weltskrieg era tanks until our production facilities produce enough Canadian tanks to reinforce them, in which case we will switch exclusively to those light tanks. We don't anticipate a tank vs. tank confrontation in the near future, so our tanks must be light, agile, and able to resist small arms fire. Our cavalry division is sort of an anomaly. They will act as patrol units while on horseback but then just become normal infantry if dismounted.
We will form another division as well, to fulfill a light infantry role to guard the countrysides and respond to threats. The Connaught Rangers will be resurrected in this role. They will be specially trained and equipped to be more "stealthy" than other infantry and move through the countryside with less logistical burdens. Of course, this would render them more vulnerable to a proper army with tanks and artillery, but that's a concern for another time. It will have 13,000 soldiers in it like the other infantry division and recruit from the western side of Ireland near its traditional depot of Galway. We will offer additional pensions and an automatic rank up to NCO to whatever able-bodied Weltskrieg veteran comes out of retirement to train and lead Irish army units. We also ask Canada if it still has any Irish divisions left in its rump army if they can send some of their officers to train our soldiers in their various specialties, since we don't anticipate more normal Brits would be very popular in Ireland.
