[M: I had a whole post written out on mobile but exited out by accident, so I'll be more succint on this one and assume that Irish writers would paraphrase it to be more eloquent]
A series of pamphlets, printed in English, Scots Irish dialect, and Irish in a low budget fashion, will be distributed across Ulster. Their stated purpose are to be informational sources to establish ground facts in the Ulster nationalist debate. Different pamphlets will be written to be relevant to different demographics and distributed to them in their concentrated geographic areas throughout Ulster. They will be handed out by community associates in Ulster if at all possible and not by the government, though they will be given police oversight from a distance in case people try to rough them up. What space remains in these pamphlets not taken up by words will have funny cartoon drawings of prominent Ulster Nationalists mocking them as puppet masters of Ulster and all around rabble rousers.
- The Scots-Irish and Ireland
Let's face it, the Scots Irish by themselves will always be a minority in whatever power structure, whether it be an independent Ulster or a unified Ireland, they are in. However, they will be much better off in our planned Irish federal structure than under an independent Ulster.
A federal Ireland would ensure rights for all Irishmen, give the Scots Irish electoral importance beyond ethnic political lines, and protect the Scots Irish from the majority rule of the Anglo Irish. While the Anglo-Irish leadership of the Ulster Nationalists might claim that they are intricately related to you, this is only for them to gain foot soldiers in their twisted fantasies of Anglo-Irish cultural domination in Ulster, a future in which your culture would inevitably fall by the wayside.
This is opposed to what Ireland had done and will continue to do for the Scots-Irish, in representing them fairly in our Cultural Unity Commission, recognizing their dialect as an official language of Ireland, and in pushing for a political system which gives representation to all the people of Ulster.
- To the Diehard Unionists
The Nationalist leadership has abandoned any claim to serve the King. When it claims that it wants to be an independent dominion of Ireland, this claim is about as realistic as Ireland being one as stipulated in our initial agreement with the UK. At this point, it is clear that any Unionist sentiment on the part of the nationalist rebels is mere lip service for those who still have an admirably long standing allegiance to the King. Ireland understands that, and has offered a free travel ticket to Canada for anyone who wants to continue serving the King in a meaningful capacity. However, the Ulster Nationalists want you all to instead die for them in the streets of Belfast, so that they may continue a grudge dating back 11 years and gain political power.
It's worth noting that the King himself has not said anything supporting the nationalist cause, and His Majesty's Government in Exile has effectively supported the defense of Irish territorial integrity. If neither the King nor the Union really want Belfast back in the Union, then the only point of your support for the nationalists is to die for their own misguided causes. Under Collins, the Irish government has made outreaches to the Union, including a possible charity boxing match between the King and Collins to restore good relations between our nations and create a more equitable relationship than ever before. An independent Ulster won't help that. [M: this is not reflective of the actual Irish position on the legitimacy of Canada or who it supports, it's just lip service for the Unionists]
- To an Everyday Anglo-Irishman
Barring cases of Unionism or insatiable blood lust and hatred towards the Catholic Irish race, the main reason for a sensible young Anglo-Irishman to support the Nationalists is a desire to protect his culture and religion. This is understandable, we had much of the same intent with its own revolution. However, in this case, independence from Ireland is not productive for this intent.
The first matter is whether or not this is feasible. Ulster has been without British aid, or any foreign military aid for the matter, for a very long time. An Ulster formed by armed insurrection, as almost happened previously, would not last very long in the face of superior Irish numbers and equipment. Countless numbers of Ulstermen would die, only to inevitably lose to an Irish counter attack. In the impossible event that Ulster does gain its independence, it would be a shell of a nation with most of its youth dead or missing and every inch baked with blood. It would also be completely indebted to whichever country helped it, leaving it with effectively less autonomy as before.
This is opposed to the current situation under the Irish Government, showing a promise of what would happen if Ulster works hand in hand with the rest of Ireland to form a more perfect Union. Ireland has bended over backwards to make sure Anglo-Irish interests are more than adequately represented in the Cultural Unity Commission, Protestant institutions are treated and funded equally by the state, and that in our future Federal plan, Ulster would gain in autonomy.
These advances and more would be lost if Ireland is forced to take a more hard-line approach in response to insurrection in Ireland. The nationalist fight isn't a slow and hard struggle to a better future for the Anglo Irish, it's a struggle to go back to a past where Ulster has to be kept down under martial law since its citizens were fighting for explicitly anti-Catholic groups. It could be argued that those citizens didn't really have a choice in that no one knew how harsh the Irish government would be on them or their culturr. Eleven years later, they do have a choice, to either cherish the elevated rights of Anglo-Irishmen which they have fought so hard for eleven years ago, or to risk burning them down in revolutionary fire.
Attached to every leaflet is this message:
Any member of an Ulster militia can surrender his arms and report to an Irish police station or military base, and receive amnesty for his membership in an ostensibly illegal insurrectionist movement and any other nonspecific charge related to membership. Further crimes committed beyond this including murder and intent to murder will be punished at maximum by an exile to Canada, and will not result in a prison term in Ireland nor the death sentence, unless an individual is judged to be particularly dangerous (cases of mass murder, terrorism, etc.). If exiled, free travel would be provided for the convicted's family should they choose to go. [M: of course, this part will only be published if Canada agrees, otherwise people with these crimes will just not be eligible for the pardon.]
