DKAEB and Bankruptcy?!
The Deustche Kaiserliche Abessinian Eisenbahn (DKAEB) railway was established in the early-20th century, and linked Addis Abada to Djibouti. After a series of German-backed expansions, it is now used to mainly transport ore from the Congo Basin, in Mittelafrika, to Djibouti. Because of the general economic downturn worldwide, ore is no longer being purchased at the rate it once was, resulting in fewer transports for the DKAEB. The situation has now reached such a level that the railway itself is nearing bankruptcy.
As such, Germany has offered Mittelafrika to nationalize the company and if not, Germany may be forced to sell it. Let us know.
European Question: To Tariff or Not To Tariff!
The situation with European trade is harboring dissent and internal resentment. Do we protect European Trade Lanes at the risk of our own farmers or do we tariff Eastern Europe to raise our own trade? Simple. No tariffs for Europe but rather increased tariffs from the Americas and American goods (South and North America). With this alone it maintains the demand for domestic German goods as well as Eastern European health.
The Response
The response to this, again was increasing tariffs from American and non-Mittelafrika (as well as not German-East Asian nations), other agricultural exporting nations would see an inevitable rise in their own tariffs. From the Americas (except Venezuela) they will see an increased cost to exporting to Germania.
