Despite the recent naval invasion of Sweden going well, there are still lessons to be learned for future conflict and fighting. While the use of decommissioned destroyers to achieve tactical and strategic surprise has been a resounding success in Oland and Gotland, future operations may not be so lucky. Due to the damage caused by a high speed impact with on a destroyer's keel, this tactic is a costly and prohibitively expensive one should it be done en masse. The German Empire - as a way to avoid future costs - has started to look into the possibility of a dedicated landing craft, able to bring heavy equipment and supplies to any beach while also allowing for it to be de-beached with little to no hull damage.
