Canada went to sleep on November 2nd, everything seemed to be normal but on the morning of November 3rd, Canadians across the country were in for a shock. Most aspects of Canadian life from the workers in the cities to the farmers out West have gone on strike, doing their best to paralyze the Canadian economy. While coal shipments and other basic necessities needed to survive the upcoming winter have been allowed transit, all other forms of rail travel have been shut down.
With the economic shutdown still affecting most average Canadians, this remarkably well-coordinated group is advocating for an increase in the minimum wage and expanded social benefits to get through these troubling times. As part of the strike and lockdown, several trains from the Prairies have been slowly sent Westward, travelling closer and closer to Ottawa, gathering willing and like-minded individuals to make themselves heard right outside of Parliament.
