[R&D] Jutland Class Destroyer
Post Body

With the growing power of air assets in naval combat as well as in combat as well as the importance of effective screening as evidenced by the Union of Britain's failure at the Battle of Bermuda, the Kaiserliche Marine has decided that the T214 - the destroyer that arose from lessons learned at Jutland - is not what the German Empire needs going into the future. With Germany potentially in a similar situation to the Union of Britain with regards to its possession in East Asia, the Kaiserliche Marine has drafted up a new destroyer designed to improve on the T214 design without bursting the budget.

Specifications (as built):

Standard displacement: 2,645 t

Full load displacement: 3,663 t

Full Length: 127 m

Waterline length: 121.9 m

Beam: 12 m

Draft: 4.65 m

Max speed: 37.5 knots

Shaft horse power: 70,000 PS (6 × water-tube boilers)

Weapons (1937):

15 cm TbtsK C/36 single naval gun x5 (4 of these will be mounted in 2 dual turrets)

3.7 cm SK C/30 twin AA gun x3

20mm C/30 single AA gun x8

53.3 cm quadruple torpedo tubes x2

The current 4 T214s currently under construction will be introduced in October of 1937, with the first Jutland-class hull expected to make its first introductions in late December with testing and sea trials for the first batch of 5 expected to be completed by February of 1938.
