The jubilance of the people of the Syndicalist Republic after the success of the Argentine Revolution cannot be overstated. However, the military had experienced significant losses during the war, both in personnel and equipment. In particular, the devastating losses at the Battle of Las Malvinas greatly angered and saddened Naval High Command, particularly the Head of the Navy, Admiral O'Ryan Orrego, who wept when he heard of the loss of the battleship Admiral Latorre, the protected cruiser O'Higgins and the armored cruiser Chacabuco.
The navy barely played a role in the conflict after these stunning losses, mostly being confined to port to maintain the few valuable assets - her submarines, in particularly - that she had left. Thus, with the defeat of the Argentinian Junta, Admiral Orrego and his staff swiftly enacted plans to recompense the Chilean Navy for her losses suffered during the war.
The Argentinian battleship Rivadavia, stuck in port in Buenos Aires following the battle of Las Malvinas, has been declared a war prize of the Chilean government. Admiral Orrego ordered his marines, present in Buenos Aires as part of the victory celebrations brought by the surviving destroyers of the Almirante Lynch class, to seize the dry dock holding the Rivadavia as well as any surviving documentation about the ship. He further ordered the Almirante Lynch class destroyers to secure Buenos Aires harbor and prevent any extant Argentine ships, under the control of the new Syndicalist government, from leaving. This action secured several Argentinian and foreign passenger liners and merchant ships which have been accordingly deflagged.
The Army, while less aggressive than the Navy, has also taken its share of spoils from the final battles for Argentina. What few armored vehicles which remained in operation after the Battles of Cordoba, Mendoza and San Luis were seized and are being collected in Buenos Aires for transportation back to Santiago. In addition, the Army has enacted plans to secure advanced Argentinian production facilities for transport back to Chile. In particular, the undamaged portions of Fábrica Argentina de Aviones in Cordoba have been dismantled and placed in transport back to Chile, as well as any surviving aircraft that were captured by the Chilean army.
The Chilean military has expressed its determination to repay the losses of the Junta's aggression. The government has, however, expressed unease at depriving the people of Argentina of the resources needed to "defend and enrich themselves." Nevertheless, the Chileans have not been able to seize everything they intended to - a People's Militia threw back Chilean Army engineers attempting to secure the Hispano-Argentina factory in Buenos Aires.
