Valentines Day,

Love definitely wasn't quite in the air.

NEWS! GOVERNMENT REVEALED TO BE SPYING ON UNIONS was the main story on that day. Just hours earlier news broke from an anonymous leak source in the RCMP, providing shreds of evidence of SIS activities in wiretapping as well as infiltrating union conferences, mostly targetting the Congress of Industrial Organizations and the Trades, One Big Union and Labor Congress of Canada, as well as leftist parties such as the CCF.

In the midst of the economic recession brought forth by the United States' worsening economic situation, and now with the downward spiral accelerating due to the stock market crash in Berlin, news of government intrigue on its own citizens hit the people hard. Anti Government protests begin to spur up in Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Hamilton, as any goodwill the unions in the nation has left for the government seemingly dries up overnight. Within the King Ministry, many even fear General Strikes as the economic situation is now compounded by political scandal. This fear wasn't entirely unfounded considering the situation, and the fact that this scandal would very much set the stage for the radicalisation of the Canadian labour movement, as it is clear that the government prefers to treat them in a similar manner to an enemy nation.

However, the threat to the Liberal government lies far closer than they thought.

Despite having no love themselves for the unions and leftist, the Conservative Party is quick to capitalise on the government's blunder. Pointing at the government's willingness to interfere with the political opposition, Sir Arthur Meighen Tories are possibly even pondering calling a Motion of No Confidence against the Liberal government.

History is being written in front of our eyes.
