The Kingdom of Siam has had a harsh few decades since the West had eagerly turned to the Indochinese Peninsula in the mid to late 19th century. With the French and British use their strength to rip away bits of pieces, forcing the unequal treaties that saw Siam turned into a shallow husk of it self. Seeing the Weltkrieg drag on and on and the failures of the Entente to stop the Central Powers in any meaningful way, Siam threw in its lot with Germany as part of a way to reclaim its former status in the region. While Siam's participation was mixed, Siam was rewarded with several cessations of land in the former French Indochina during the Peace with Honour. This expansion would only continue with the Siamese intervention into Malaya in 1925 and the German intervention in Burma. However, the Siamese resurgence has not translated to a solidification of the domestic situation, with growing movements to see the Siamese Kingdom undergo reforms with some even demanding a Constitutional Monarchy.

The domestic situation must be resolved at once both politically and economically in order to make Siam a modern nation that can stand the tests of time. While aligned with Germany because of the Weltkrieg and economic ties, Siam understands that its future may not lie with Germany, the Japanese Empire to the East seeming to provide a strong counterbalance should Germany seek to dominate the region further against Siamese wishes. With Burma standing as an eternal rival, Siam seeks to finally end Burma's threat whether by force... or through other means if the opportunities arise.
