Made homemade mozzarella sticks in my air fryer!

I will do delicious tests to figure out the timing!

[not loaded or deleted]

Aha. I guess I should have done a Google search for a recipe!

[not loaded or deleted]

More good info. My next batch will be better. I snapped them in half and stuffed the cheese back in with my fingers.

[not loaded or deleted]

Just a whisper of mozzarella on the inside of the bread tube.

[not loaded or deleted]

It's empty, like my soul.

[not loaded or deleted]

Still melty cheese and bread sticks! Not pretty, but I'm also not proud. I applaud you all making the best of it too!

[not loaded or deleted]

I love pizza rolls! Until they napalm my mouth. But I still eat them through the pain.

[not loaded or deleted]

Love the peeling roof-of-mouth skin the next day!

[not loaded or deleted]

The struggle is real. Who doesn't love mildly cheesey bread tubes?

[not loaded or deleted]

Thanks! I triple coated them.

[not loaded or deleted]

I made some of the best tasting onion rings I ever had in mine, same batter recipe I used here.

Also makes amazing veggies, and perfect chicken breasts. And I don't need to heat a giant oven.

This was a fail though.

[not loaded or deleted]

I did not freeze them! I've learned from all the helpful comments that this is important. I will definitely do it next time!

[not loaded or deleted]

You are very kind! I stuffed most of the cheese back into them, they were very tasty still!

[not loaded or deleted]

You can! Just need to add oil in with the bread crumbs, this was my made up recipe:

1/3 cup all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 3 eggs 8 mozzarella sticks

Directions:

Mix panko crumbs and seasonings in a bowl. Add two table spoons of olive oil and combine until moist.

Add flour into a bowl.

Add 3 eggs to a bowl, and scramble.

Toss mozzarella sticks (one at a time) in flour, then into eggs, then into bread crumbs. Repeat with egg bath and bread crumbs at least twice. I did it three times.

Just like grandma used to make!

[not loaded or deleted]

For sure! It's great to cook stuff quickly and (usually) to perfection without having to heat up a big oven and your kitchen at the same time.

[not loaded or deleted]

I've gotten so many helpful tips on Mozzarella sticks! Clearly a tricky food loved by many.

My next batch will be perfect!!

[not loaded or deleted]

I will take this as a very strange compliment.

You can see the bowls that has the bread crumbs, flour, and eggs in the sink in the second picture. 🤗

[not loaded or deleted]

I don't! I live in MA, near Salem (Lord help me this time of year), but I dig Portland and haven't been in forever. Giant mozzarella sticks and tomato soup and grilled cheese is a very good reason to make the trip. Maybe post *leaf peeper season.

[not loaded or deleted]

Appreciate you!

[not loaded or deleted]

I'm a hot mess.

[not loaded or deleted]

It held up really well, minus me way over cooking them and not freezing them first.

It was super delicious too! The pepper was key, little spicy with the other seasonings and marinara sauce.

[not loaded or deleted]

I'd sign the petition.

[not loaded or deleted]

I mean, fast food joints seem to have it figured out, haha.

They were still delicious after I stuffed the cheese back in.

Would like to not have that extra step next time.

[not loaded or deleted]

Oh, I definitely did!

[not loaded or deleted]
[not loaded or deleted]

This seems to be the consensus, and I will!

[not loaded or deleted]

Agreed! I digitally stuffed the cheese back in. Yummy stuff.

[not loaded or deleted]

I've used all my tin foil for hats to protect me from 5G, but I can look for parchment paper.

Also, it will be nice to have some friends.

[not loaded or deleted]

Doing the Lord's work!! Yes, I waaaaaaaaaaaasay over cooked them then, in addition to them being unfrozen.

[not loaded or deleted]

Hopefully the cheese stays in next time, but will do!

[not loaded or deleted]

For sure! These were triple coated, but my other mistakes of not freezing them first and cooking them wasaaaaaaay too long blew through those coatings.

[not loaded or deleted]

Yeah, my made up recipe:

[not loaded or deleted]

Sorry, what's brain dead and wokeness here? Brain dead sure, but 'wokeness'?

[not loaded or deleted]

All good! You STD free?

[not loaded or deleted]

Oh shit! Grilled cheese and tomato soup is my go to in the fall/winter. Thanks for the tip!

[not loaded or deleted]

They were still yummy after stuffing the cheese back in. I'll follow the tips on freezing first, and less time cooking, and I think they'll be as good as deep fried!

[not loaded or deleted]

This seems to be highly recommended advice, and I will definitely follow it next time!

I broke them in half and stuffed the cheese back in!

[not loaded or deleted]

I think so! Just don't get one that looks like a toaster oven with the glass door, you want one of the ones with enclosed baskets.

They cook small portions super fast, well, and easy cleanup.

So many recipes out there too.

[not loaded or deleted]

This is getting a few recommendations, will have to try.

[not loaded or deleted]

Currently at 15/100.

[not loaded or deleted]

Oooo. Care to share the name?

[not loaded or deleted]

Happy Cake Day!

Yeah, I did mine room temperature for 8 minutes at 320, flipped them, and another 8 minutes. Oops!

[not loaded or deleted]

They're tasty even like this!

[not loaded or deleted]

I laugh at myself all the time, so yes, please go ahead.

[not loaded or deleted]

This is what I get for thinking 'I can just figure this out!'.

In a world where we Google everything for answers, sometimes I'm just too stubborn and learn by trial and error the old fashioned way.

Delicious, cheesey, trial and error.

[not loaded or deleted]

Oh, I still ate them. No diarrhea yet!

[not loaded or deleted]

No problemo! I'll share my bread tubes with you.

[not loaded or deleted]

I'll take that as a compliment!

[not loaded or deleted]

Oh, very much so. About 2 - 3x too long based on the advice I'm getting.

[not loaded or deleted]

Dunno, might be personal choice. I made some onion rings with the same batter recipe I used on these, and they were literally the best tasting I'd ever had. So many times they're just soggy from places when deep fried.

[not loaded or deleted]

Interesting, will try this sometime.

[not loaded or deleted]

Excellent information! This is with them frozen too?

[not loaded or deleted]

For sure! These were triple coated, but my other mistakes of not freezing them first and cooking them wasaaaaaaay too long blew through those coatings.

[not loaded or deleted]

Two great tastes that go great together!

[not loaded or deleted]

I aim to please!

[not loaded or deleted]

Bread tube gang!

[not loaded or deleted]

Physics I guess.

[not loaded or deleted]

Roasted in GOT!

[not loaded or deleted]

Is the bottle shaped like a mans torso with a spray tan, hairy chest, and fake gold chain?

[not loaded or deleted]

Maybe a hollow bread tube will cheer you up?

[not loaded or deleted]

Maybe I can market them as 'mozzarella shells'.

[not loaded or deleted]

It is always heartening to know so many others have failed at a task like me!

[not loaded or deleted]

There will definitely be a next time. Still very tasty even like this!

[not loaded or deleted]

Wait, should I Google reverse donut hole or am I going to regret it?

[not loaded or deleted]

Who doesn't love a good bread tube! I feel better knowing this happens to so many people. 🤗

[not loaded or deleted]

Would crying mozzarella be like melty cheese? Or tiny cartoon tear drop shaped blobs?

[not loaded or deleted]

Definitely a performance piece.

[not loaded or deleted]

Your condolences are appreciated.

They were ugly, but still tasty!

[not loaded or deleted]

Fortunately the cheese just peeled off easy!
