Hey there everyone, Im looking at starting my first welding project. Ive got a 220 stick welder that I have access to. I’m looking to weld a rack that will fit around my truck canopy (2000 tundra), as I can’t find something that’s anywhere affordable. I will be using square tube for the frame and plate to mount it to the truck with c clamps. What thickness of steel should I be using? Anything helps! Hoping to have no more than 600 lbs on the rack (roof top tent and 2 adults). Any advice for this helps! Thanks!
