Newbie welder to learn stick for 6g
Post Body

So I am currently an apprentice in California as a millwright. One of my requirements is to get certified in 6g stick welding. I'm looking to buy a welder at home so I can practice but I have a few embarrassing questions to ask.

  1. When welders say ac and dc will it work in my home because my house uses 110 ac right? Will it convert it to dc?

  2. I have alot of people tell me don't even bother buying a welder if I only have 110 in my house. What is your opinion?

  3. I know i can buy a more inexpensive stick unit but i really see myself wanting to do projects and eventually side work so i want to buy multiprocess machine. Pls comment.

  4. Whether you think I should stick to a just stick unit or a multiprocess pls leave your suggestions on models to buy?
