Newbie welder with a really old A/C Lincoln Tombstone. How thin of material should I even attempt to weld on while learning?
Post Body
It's hard to spend too much time just practicing for the sake of practice, but all my current projects are thin steel. One friend is telling me that to do thin steel I really want a cheap Mig machine. Other buddy is telling me that an AC machine is shit and I'm waisting my time.
Well... I have this welder. I have a wood stove made out of a 55 gallon drum that I'm going to modify to burn WMO, and my old K5 floor board that could use a patch welded in [lots of good steel around it, just had a puddle in it for ten years]
Is this stick machine good for learning by doing either project or do I need to buy another welder and leave this for 1/4 inch and thicker jobs?
