Welding table advice
Post Body

I've decided on most of the parameters of my first table except for the edge of the table. I'll be building it out of 1/2" for the top and 3" X 3" for the legs and the box supporting the top plate. I've seen some tables with a lip and others with the box extending to the edge of the plate. I'd guess that having the lip would be nice for clamping things down close to the edge but it would be unsupported and prone to bending. However with a 1/2" I'm guessing I'd really have to abuse the thing. Any thoughts on either design or previous experience?
