1/8 ceriated, balled 390 amps, usually around half-3/4 pedal depending on where I’m at in the weld
I’ve been doing ok so far but figured it might be good to see if anyone has any tips that might help me out. So far my plan of attack has been to weld the backing plate first so it’s nice and hot. Then I’ll clamp it down and start my weld with a slight vertical angle, and a slight bias to the backing plate.* I dwell at the bottom of the runoff tab (which is smaller than I wish it was) for a little until it feels like it’s got enough heat, and then I just try to step, dwell, and add as consistently as possible. Travel speed is a little slower than if it was flat.
*I noticed when aiming my tungsten directly at the groove it didn’t fuse properly and undercut the bevel.
