What is the best advise for somebody new to fitness looking to lose weight and gain muscle

I'm looking to lose weight and gain muscles, I'm new to the gym and have been going for exactly 1 month from tomrrow. I'm looking for any advise that will help me achieve my goals.

So far I have manage to lose 13lbs by eating better and hitting the gym 5/6 times a week.
