Conflicted on Whether to Maintain or Lose
Post Body

Hi all. This is somewhat of an "off my chest."

I used to be 320 pounds. I'm a 5'8, 30 year old man.

Through a lot of hard work, dieting, etc, I managed to get down to 145 at my thinnest about a year ago. I'm back up to about 175 now. Honestly? Because I started stress-eating for a while due.

I felt like I looked my best when I was thinner but a lot of people said I looked like I was going to wither away. I have a broad chest and shoulders, but my waist didn't seem to match. I could fit into size 29 or 30 jeans but my chest commanded a medium or large depending on the brand, my chest was a size 40 even at my slimmest. Now I'm around 41, and wearing size 32 jeans. I went from a size 34 belt to sometimes a size 38.

I FEEL like I'm grossly overweight again, FEEL like I desperately want and need to get back down to around 155. And maybe I do. But people also tell me I look healthier. My size-Large clothes fit me better, where my mediums were always like slim-fits even at my slimmest. I liked that, but...

Was I too thin?

The reality is I do have a broad ribcage. My abdomen was "sunken in" in my lower weights. But even now I have a belly again. I'm questioning myself so much. How can I be wearing size 32 jeans and be "fat?"

My inner demons are screaming that I need to drop the weight again. The mirror is showing me an overweight body. But people tell me I look healthier now.

I don't really know how to proceed. With my body type, is being "overweight" just... How I should be built?
