I'm going to be starting to track my food intake, focusing mainly on calories. I may in the future focus on macros, however that's for another post.
I'm a 55 year old male, 5'11" and current weight is about 315lbs. My goal weight is 175lbs. I have lost a considerable amount of weight (about 80lbs) a few years back, by focusing on healthy eating and calorie counting. I used to use MyFitnessPal, however I'm trying out LoseIt and Chronometer.
My issue is the amount of calories to eat. I've used TDEE calculator to figure out my maintenance calories. Now on that site and the two apps in using, the calories I would need to eat to lose weight is between 2,200 and 2,350. When I lost the weight before, the calories were between 1,800 and 2,000. I was losing weight and should of continued, however I started eating unhealthy foods again and gained the weight back
The question I have is should I use the apps and/or TDEE website calorie settings and adjust as I lose weight? Or use the previous calories of 1,800 to 2,000? Also, these calories are set for sedentary and I will be exercising several times a week doing cardio mostly.
Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance for responding.
