I do not want to start a big argument in the comments. I would like for this post to be a place where people can share 'controversial' things in weightloss that really works for them.
I weight myself every day.
I don't care if there are fluctuations or it doesn't go down for a bit, even if it goes up, i still find it hard to believe that i am under 100kg.
I do not log all my calories perfectly.
For me, i can not be bothered to weigh and apple before an after eating, or to weight out lettuce. If it is healthy and low calorie enough I don't really feel the need to restrict myself or worry about the amount of calories.
Going over your alloted calories for the day is fine, even if it is big time.
The amount of upset i have seen here of people overeating is a little worrying to me. You are not competing with anyone. You are trying to build a better and healthier eating pattern for yourself. You will mess up once in a while.
While CICO is in general the rule, there is really not one standard advice for people trying to lose weight.
For many there is a mental component to it that is much more important than the calorie aspect. Can't have a healthy body without having a healthy mind.
While it is good to move everyday, there is no need to exercise everyday. Rest is as important for your body as exercise.
When i see or hear other people going to the gym daily and push themselves to their limits i always wonder when they give their body time to heal. I do cardio twice a week and weights twice a week and usually see my weight drop only after a rest day.
What are your 'controversial' opinons?
