I've been living with my boyfriend for a few years now, and its had its problems. It started out pretty idyllic, but like anything complacency set in. Less intimacy, less interest in each other. Spending a lot of money on takeout also starting to cause a few... changes, I guess. I've been putting on weight. And in the new year it is getting hard to deny after the holidays and how cold it was. Going back to work, everything is tighter.
Being corn-fed is great when you're younger, exercising all the time just from living life. But as you slow down, and the spiral of fast food, corn-syrup-laden junk starts slowing you down, which makes you snack more, and all around you is a state-wide food desert: yes, sure, being from a backwater flyover state makes a tremendous difference to your waistline.
