Am I doomed from the start because I have a small business insurance plan?

Hi all! This is a question specifically about getting any semiglutide approved when your insurance is a small business insurance plan. Last fall I went through the whole PA process with Measured. They recommended that my best shot at getting Wegovy or Oz approved was to start with Metformin and prove that I wasnt losing weight on that. I was on that for 30 days, then Measured started submitting PAs for Wegovy/Oz.

During this time, I did some research and I learned that my insurance was not going to cover ANY weight loss meds specifically because I have a small business insurance plan through Anthem. I guess my employer is small enough that it has a special insurance plan, and the plan's list of covered medications is limited.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Am I just screwed? I recently decided to try again and went to a real Endocrinologist and they are happy to do the PAs for me and really experienced with it. But from what I've learned, there's NO chance that my insurance will ever cover it :(
