I Hate Wednesday

Ok! This is probably gonna offend a bunch of people but IDC.

The movies and especially the TV Wednesday portray the Addams family in a terrible light. Back in the 1960’s, the Addams Family was a subversive masterpiece. It took what an ideal Kennedy Family was and flipped it.

Black hair, pale skin. Not the ideal American beauty. But morticia was beautiful.

The family sure made dark jokes. But there wasn’t this weird BDSM fetish thing that the whole family was into.

Sure they made jokes like “spoiling them with a. Guillotine for their birthday” but it was light and charming.

And morticia wasn’t this sexy buddy. She also wasn’t depressed. In fact, the whole family was rather cheerful all the time.

In the later adaptations, they started moving away. Making the characters act both more comical and more dark in a weird and camp way which I GUESS is ok for Halloween??

But then the TV show came out. And I lost it. Wednesday is supposed to be a very happy little girl. She isn’t some brooding pick me girl. She is a happy child who happens to behead Marie Antoinette daily.

I hate what they’ve turned the beloved OG TV show into. The point was the Addams are a happy and healthy, supportive family who gets along. They just show love in weird ways.

We’d describe made a complete joke out of the beloved OG character.
