Looking for some advice specific to NYC as costs are generally inflated here so the flat rates I've seen on general wedding advice sites are particularly low compared to the total price of the contract.
I've seen some recommendations to tip a wedding photographer a flat rate of $100-$200, and some to tip 15-20% as per usual tipping rules. I'm paying $5200 for my contract with my photographer, so percentage wise $100-$200 is barely 3% -- 20% would be over $1k. If that's customary that's fine -- I generally like to err on the side of better tips -- but I'm getting mixed messages lol. Can some folks please share what they've done for similarly priced contracts?
For additional context, my photographer is the owner of their own studio, and will be bringing one assistant shooter.
