Paying my contractors via 1099 - I'm in a pickle!
Post Body

Hi Everyone,

I currently run a wedding studio with 5 shooters on our roster. All of them are paid via 1099 as independent contractors.

Recently, two of my shooters asked if I could pay them (and subsequently issue their 1099 forms) in the name of the LLC using their EIN numbers. I ran it by our accounting firm and there are huge tax implications for our shooters in doing so. Likely, being able to claim the income I pay them via their EIN could cut their tax bill by 15-20%

My question is I currently use Square to collect payments, and manage payroll. They don't currently (and won't soon) offer the option to remit payments via an EIN. They will only do it via SS#

Are there any other platforms out there that you have used that you love that can both collect payments from clients, and remit payments to contractors? I'm so frustrated with Square at the moment.

Thanks! Eric
