With the recent racially charged controversy within webtoon, and the overwhelming negative reaction towards it, would you guys say that having one character referred to another in a racist way, even if it's kind of a joke between the two, be a step too far and lead to the downfall of one's comic?
For example, I have two characters in my story. One who happened to be Chinese and the other happens to be Japanese there's a lot of flirting and sexual frustration, and on the outside it appears that they treat each other rather rudely but it's kind of their way of toxically flirting with each other and it borders on stereotypes that the two countries hold with each other. Obviously I'm not going to type any out here as I don't want to offend anyone but would you guys say that would be a step too far?
