Newbie Starting Out
Post Body

Hi all,

Extremely new to investing and trading and was looking for a few pointers and tips. I’ve done a little bit of research but again, very little knowledge. I’m aware of the fees associated with US markets (I don’t really plan on trading there, at least initially) and how WS doesn’t show live market prices.

I’m 35 so probably a little late to the investing game and I’ve never been good at saving so I’m really starting from scratch. I know I’ll probably never become a millionaire but it’d be nice to have a little bit more disposable income over time. I’m Irish, moved to Canada 8 years ago and going through immigration lawyers and various government fees and also a bit of a party lifestyle when I first moved over, it’s basically wiped out my savings

As a complete newbie, I’d love some advice on what stock to invest in initially. I have the Wealthsimple Cash app with a TFSA (nothing crazy, just over $400) with $50 direct deposits weekly but I’m looking to get a little more control on what I’m putting my money into. While I don’t have a lump sum to invest, I plan on funding my WS Trade weekly in order to trade a little more frequently.

Any help is more than appreciated!
