FL or Maschine
Post Body

I recently bought maschine and really am impressed. However, I'm not quite sure it's what I'm looking for. I make Vaporwave, Synthwave, Soundscape, glitch hop and Ambient music. (I love boards of Canada, and the evolving sounds of synths) I used to use FL studio, but figured I could change everything (why not) now that I'm getting familiar with the software, it seems I made a mistake as of what types of music it's directed towards. I love the effects how they're directly tied in when you load it, I love all the instruments it comes with, and the controller is magnificent. It seems like song building is pretty complicated for my genres. Everything must be patterns, which is just strange to me. I also have it abled as a VST in FL studio, which is a pain to start out working around, and seems kind of inconsistent and glitchy. Does it get easier to use those 2 together or has anyone ran into more problems? Am I better off returning it, and getting a new midi controller, a few good vsts, and a synth or drum machine? I know this is probably a personal preference question. But I'd like to know some professional opinions.

I'd really appreciate some outside opinions. I'm very torn in the middle about keeping it, or returning it and getting different hardware/software.
