So I've been writing and producing my own music for about 4-5 months now, and for a while I was progressing steadily. I've been a musician for like 7 years so my grasp on theory is pretty good and I was writing new stuff a lot that I was enjoying. It was most ambient instrumental stuff because I am very inspired by groups like Sigur Ros and The 1975. I also listen to pretty much every kind of music imaginable. Lately I've wanted to add vocals and do something a little more pop or rock but it seems I've hit a wall. I think it's a combination of a lack of experience and writers block. I have a few questions for you guys.
What are some things I can do to deal with writers block?
I'm having a lot of trouble writing vocal parts, especially melodies. What are some ways I can learn to write better vocals?
What are some ways you can make a piece progress (i.e from verse to chorus, verse to bridge, chorus to outro)
Thanks for reading, and any help will be greatly appreciated!
