I have a pair of KRK VXT4 monitors for my small home recording space that I've had for around 12 years and I've always loved them.
However, I've always wished I bought the VXT6 versions but I never had the cash at the time. If I were to buy new now I would be looking at the KRK V4S6 model for around 900 euros, but I can get a pair of used VXT6'S for 500 euros.
What is the shelf life of these or similar monitors? Are they made so well that they generally last 10, 15, 20 years? I've never had a single issue with mine and I could probably sell them for 300 and upgrade to the 6's for 200 euros. But is it stupid buying a pair used and 10 years old?
Unfortunately I can't test them beforehand as they would be shipped from another country in Europe but the seller claims they are like new.
Is this a smart move to save 400 euros or a crazy one lol?
