Routine: NYM curl talk shampoo conditioner. S2C, today I skipped the leave in and did the NYM curl talk gel then mousse, plopped for maybe 15 minutes then diffused upside down/pixie.

After the plop and diffusing I had these nice looking curls and curl clumps. But the minute I touch it to scrunch anything out it gets all... bleh. So my roots are "virgin" hair, they haven't been dyed or straightened. There is a lot of wear and tear at the lengths from heat tools and dying/bleaching. I'll keep the curls and volume up top and a couple inches down but then it'll just lose itself and go straight at the ends.

I've seen a lot of damaged hair on here look better than this so I'm wondering if anyone has any tricks? I'm also wondering what type of hair curl you think this is based on what you can see?

I appreciate any help!
