I wanted to pay it forward since this sub has been quite helpful to me while planning this campaign.
We played regularly every two weeks for six hours.
My first advice is figuring out if owning/running a tavern is something your players would enjoy. Mine are a very RP-heavy bunch but the minutiae of getting it running and managing it was not at all appealing. They preferred playing the plot moreso that tavern keeping. They kind of hired a manager to do it. But then only collected gold from it twice given the short in-game time that passed since opening the tavern to ending the campaign, as opposed to the long real-life time. So it did feel a little bit of an extra tedious detail that maybe wasn't needed.
