I regret following the book's description of the Cassalanters' servants. The players are beyond suspicious of them now since all their servants are tieflings, even though all insight checks have constantly failed to show any falsehoods from the parents themselves.
I do love that my players have agency and are torn between which faction they should bring the money to (currently between Cassalanters, who they're hired by and who the Zhentarim favor - one of my players is a Zhent) and Laeral Silverhand (who Vajra supports - one of my players is loyal to her).
I was really hoping the big soiree full of death and poison would be a big shocking reveal but it seems that even if it goes through (which is unlikely at this juncture), the players would not be that surprised by it since they suspect the Cassalanters.
I will add that the cover artwork of this adventure completely gives away the villains, and in this case they're not meant to be an obvious villain :(
