Stumbled into watercolors because of a coding project I'm working on
Post Body

I've been working on this project where I'm trying to automate the creation of some images using masked texture files. I realized I liked the look of watercolors from a similar project I stumbled across and decided it would be fun to try to paint a few myself. I confirmed to myself last night that I have zero experience in this arena...

Here's the result

I ended up using 140 lbs paper, but I think I probably shouldn't have skimped on the paints and brushes...

Any suggestions for a new comer who might have found something he is interested in? Anything from what sort of paints/brushes/paper, techniques that I should look into and practice. Really, whatever... I'm a blank canvas (sorry, I had to run with that pun)

Side note this is more like what I had in mind. I know that I could probably just use that, but for some reason I just want to make my own.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I hope this is the correct way to go about asking for advice here. Please let me know if there is a more appropriate subreddit
