Should I be using Gouache over Watercolor?
Post Body

I've been using watercolor for... ever? But I've always had a really heavy handed approach. I feel like I'm no longer getting the results I want because everything is too opaque for my liking. I'm wondering if I should be swapping over to gouache to get more of the look I'm going for...

My colors are tending to get muddy, and I'm using an outline marker a lot more than I used to as my style evolves... just kinda wondering about making the change since I've never used that type of paint before and am sort of nervous? I don't know.

Timberline lodge and Mt. Hood

Edit- 🤦‍♀️ Apparently I needed more caffeine this morning as I said “opaque” when I meant “transparent.” Biiiiig derp.

Thanks everyone for the feedback and advice, I think I may just invest in some Windsor and newton tubes and give it a go 🙂
