Style in my opinion is what makes art. Otherwhise we are all striving to be able to do the same thing. And not every style is everyone’s cup of tea. Thats why we have artists that go in and out of style or clothing that goes in and out of style. Style is absolutely valid in every way. If i was a professional artist that strived for realism or a cartoonist, then perfecttion might be needed. But sometimes imperfections in pieces are the parts that are interesting. Now i know i am nowhere near perfect as well. And i do like critique, but the best critics i have ever had/ professors i have ever had. Had a techneque called the critical sandwich. Where you say something you like. Then you give a critique then you finish with something you like. Those are the best critics and the best ones to learn from because it establishes trust between the two parties. Now i love how forward you are about your critisism, but it can be a bit too heady sometimes as you dont know the meaning purpose of the art. And you seem very knowledgeable on the subject of proportions and prospective. That is how one should critique if you want positive engagement :)
Is this just a convoluted way of saying the scale isn’t perfect?
Interesting perspective. Ill keep it in mind. I wasnt going for realism at all, just my interpretation. Its a scene of an autocross turn where there is a jump so the the car is tilted and perspective looks skewed because well the road is skewed 😂
Thank you! I saw something like this in Italy so i figured i would implement it when i thought it compliments
Cars are hard man have you tried something like this? Would love to see a better example to put this into practice
Yeah i think so too! Nice 86 by the way!
Not at all! Show me when your done!
This is the reference photo
We definitely have different mindset and come from different cultures it seems. Maybe its best to agree to disagree on this one so we can part in peace!
Oh yeah i know how perspective works lol just working on it like i said. Thanks for all the resources. Im actually a product designer so perspective in drawing is something that im all too familiar with. Sometimes its just not as important when the painting is 2”x2” and its more of a sketch
Loll it was from weatherly PA hill climb event
I might be willing to give it a try! Shoot me a message!
Dude thats so cool never met someone that races rallycross and paints! (Btw i love your style you make beautiful houses) im also into cars but havent gotten to race yet! Thats my uncles car it was a present for him. Im goad that the emotion of racing was translated to you :)
Thank you although as you can see the other comment, my perspective is nowhere close to perfect
Yes it went greens, then to grays and the white road line is gouache and yellow is copic. Then just fineliner and brush pen to finish
Thank you i like blocking out colors start with the light greens to brighter greens and then the pavement and gray parts of the car. The bright yellow line is copic marker and white gauche for the white lines. Then most of it is just brush pen and fineliner

Yeah inaccuracies in perspective are all just a matter or experience and practice. Wich im still working on. I usually dont paint cars because it is hard with all the body lines and curves to get it right. Definitely working on that from now on though. But i will be posting more paintings like this in this style (my style) and i hope you can live with that. I actually like getting critiques on perspective and coloring/ technique. But style is one of those things that is hard to take criticism of considering it is what makes all artists different. And because thats what bothered you most that leads me to believe that was the best thing about it.
